Final audio recordings complete! Now the countdown’s on to launching our newly developed, wholly-online subject! It’s specifically for @unimelb international students who have learnt English as an additional language, to help boost their confidence in spoken English 🗣

At the core of the subject is a focus on intelligibility in any accent, not accent modification or learning to speak British, American or Australian English. Fingers crossed the students like it 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Feeling overjoyed to see the publication of this moving tribute to Kristin Linklater in Mexico’s theatre magazine, Paso De Gato. The dossier is the work of the incredible Linklater teachers in Mexico and features stories and reflections from Linklater teachers across the globe. I was humbled to be invited to write about my training with Kristin and teaching Linklater voice in Australia.

I’d love to say I can write in Spanish but am totally hopeless in that regard and send huge thanks to Carmen and Claudia who translated my piece “Sobre ser una Maestra Designada en Linklater en Australia”. Grandes abrazos ❤️

Lucky me I got to have a massage today and met this incredible woman, Jon! She is the joyful and gracious owner of @the_massagestudios in North Carlton. Jon’s also a theatre artist from Thailand and runs a company called Free Theatre in Melbourne. When she asked what I do for work and I answered, she knelt on the floor and bowed to me... it was very moving. Jon opened her massage studio in February. Even though the biz hasn’t had much chance to find its rhythm yet, she’s grateful for the lockdown and proud of what Victoria’s achieved. I was so moved by her story I had to share - to shine a spotlight on the incredible small business owners who are emerging from a draining lockdown with courage and energy to rejuvenate their businesses. And bringing so much to the community as a result!

This is a beautiful spot for a massage and if you get the added bonus of meeting Jon you’re in for a treat 🥰
